Dehradun to Delhi is our busiest route by a wide margin — 250 km, a good highway, and vehicles running it most weeks. That frequency is the single most useful fact about this corridor, because it makes shared-vehicle part loads genuinely cheap.

Why your delivery is at night
Delhi restricts goods-vehicle entry during daytime hours. This is not a preference or a scheduling convenience — it is the law, and it means loaded trucks enter most of the city overnight or in the early morning. Any mover promising you a 2 pm delivery inside Delhi is either not sending a goods vehicle or not telling you the truth.
Practically: plan to be at the new address early, and arrange the society's permission for an early-morning move in advance.
Society paperwork is the real bottleneck
NCR high-rises almost universally want a gate pass and a lift booking, and many charge a refundable deposit against damage to common areas. Some restrict moving to weekdays. Getting this wrong costs two hours at the gate with a loaded truck.
Give your mover the society name at booking. It takes them a phone call and saves you the morning.
Lift size beats floor number
A twelfth floor with a proper service lift is easier than a fourth floor with a passenger lift that will not take a sofa. Measure your lift — internal width, depth and door height — and pass those numbers on. Items that will not fit go up the stairs, and it is much better to know that in Dehradun.
Timing
Same-day is realistic: pack in the morning, vehicle leaves by early afternoon, delivery in the early hours or first thing the next morning. For a part load, add two to four days for consolidation.
Making it cheaper
- Share a vehicle. On this corridor the wait is short and the saving is real.
- Move mid-month, mid-week. Month-end demand is a genuine premium.
- Declutter. Volume is what you are paying for.
- Ask about a return load. A vehicle coming back empty from Delhi is cheaper than one dispatched specially.
