What Packers and Movers Actually Cost in Dehradun (2026 Guide)

Honest price bands for 1BHK to 4BHK moves from Dehradun, what actually drives the number, and the charges that tend to appear only after you have committed.

Most moving quotes in Dehradun are given over the phone in under a minute, and most of them are wrong. Not dishonestly wrong — just guessed, because the person quoting has not seen your stairs, your lane, or the amount of furniture actually in the house. This guide gives you real bands and, more usefully, explains what moves a price within them.

    Local moves within Dehradun

    Home sizeIndicative band
    1 BHK₹3,500 – ₹8,000
    2 BHK₹6,000 – ₹14,000
    3 BHK₹9,000 – ₹20,000
    4 BHK / bungalow₹15,000 – ₹35,000

Those bands are wide for a reason. A ground-floor 2BHK in Vasant Vihar with the truck at the gate and a third-floor 2BHK in Nehru Colony with a 40-metre carry are the same load and genuinely not the same job. Access is the variable, not volume.

    Intercity moves from Dehradun

    Destination1 BHK2 BHK3 BHK
    Delhi (250 km)₹6,500 – ₹11,500₹11,000 – ₹19,000₹16,000 – ₹28,000
    Chandigarh (200 km)₹6,000 – ₹10,500₹10,000 – ₹17,500₹15,000 – ₹26,000
    Jaipur (570 km)₹10,000 – ₹17,500₹16,000 – ₹28,000₹23,500 – ₹41,000
    Mumbai (1,650 km)₹21,500 – ₹37,500₹34,500 – ₹60,500₹49,500 – ₹86,500
    Bengaluru (2,200 km)₹27,500 – ₹48,500₹44,000 – ₹77,000₹63,000 – ₹110,000

These assume a dedicated vehicle. If your load is small and your dates are flexible, a shared vehicle on a corridor we run weekly can cut 30–50% off the long-distance figures.

The five things that actually move your price

    1. Floor and lift

This is the single biggest factor after distance, and the one most often left out of a phone quote. A working service lift that fits a sofa is worth thousands of rupees against a third-floor walk-up with a turning staircase.

    2. Lane width at both ends

If a 19-foot truck cannot reach your door, the job becomes a smaller vehicle plus a shuttle, or a longer manual carry. In parts of Dehradun — Karanpur, Nehru Colony, the lanes behind Paltan Bazaar — that is the normal case rather than the exception.

    3. How much you actually own

"2BHK" tells a mover almost nothing. Two people who have lived somewhere for two years and a family of five who have been there for twenty produce loads that differ by a factor of three.

    4. Packing scope

Full packing by the crew costs more than packing your own cartons. It is also the difference between a claim being payable and not, since goods you packed yourself cannot be inspected before loading.

    5. Timing

End of month, weekends and the April-to-June peak all cost more, simply because demand is higher. A mid-month weekday in September is the cheapest slot in the calendar.

What a proper quote should look like

Ask for it in writing, and ask for it to name: the vehicle size, the crew size, the packing materials included, whether unpacking is included, the transit cover level, the GST, and the expected delivery window. If any of those is missing, the number is not a quote — it is an opening position.

    Getting an accurate figure

A free survey, in person or over a video call, takes about twenty minutes and is the only way to get a number that will not change. We do it before quoting, every time, and if the survey missed something that is our cost to absorb rather than yours to pay on the day.
