Dehradun to Mussoorie: A 35 km Move That Needs Real Planning
Thirty-five kilometres, and the most technically demanding short move we do. Here is what actually decides the plan and the price.
The drive is an hour. The move is not. Almost everything difficult about a Dehradun to Mussoorie relocation happens in the last 500 metres.
Cost
| Load | Indicative band |
|---|---|
| 1 BHK | ₹4,000 – ₹8,000 |
| 2 BHK | ₹8,000 – ₹15,000 |
| 3 BHK | ₹12,000 – ₹22,000 |
| Car transport | ₹2,500 – ₹4,500 |
Note how close a Mussoorie band is to a Delhi band despite being a seventh of the distance. That gap is the access, and it is genuine rather than opportunistic.
The vehicle changes
Most Mussoorie addresses cannot take a full-size truck. We typically run a 14-foot tempo for the climb and occasionally shuttle in two trips. This is priced at survey, never added afterwards.
The carry decides the price
Above Library Bazaar, and throughout Landour and Barlowganj, the final stretch is frequently a manual carry up steps. Tell us the number of steps between the nearest vehicle stop and your door — it is the most valuable single piece of information you can give us about a hill address.
Furniture that will not go up
Mussoorie staircases are narrow with tight turns and low ceilings over the turn. Large sofas, king beds and tall wardrobes often will not go up intact and sometimes will not go up at all. We measure at survey, and if the answer is no, you hear it in Dehradun rather than in Landour.
Weather windows
From December to February we keep the date flexible because snow can close the road briefly. From July to September landslides can do the same. Both are short delays and both are far better than a loaded truck stuck on the hill.
Areas we cover
Mall Road, Library Bazaar, Landour, Barlowganj, Jharipani, Kulri, Happy Valley, Camel's Back Road and Hathipaon. Landour and the upper Camel's Back stretch always need a small vehicle plus a carrying crew.
